Non-Teaching Support Team

Receptionist / Lunch Setup/Supervise/Cleanup

Door / Hall:

Answering the door and phone, taking messages, letting people in when needed, escorting students or visitors, and generally available to monitor door and hall activity.  If there is downtime, copying or cleaning can be done.


Lunch:

Arrange tables and chairs as needed. Help younger students with heating up food in microwave, opening containers, cleaning up spills, getting a spoon, etc.  Supervise children cleaning up after themselves and getting lined up. washed up, filling water bottles, and using the restrooms in preparation for PE and recess. After recess/PE, stay with students until teacher is ready for them.  Check that bathrooms are clean, sinks are turned off, and toilets are flushed.

Return to lunch room to check cleanliness tables and floor and reset if requested by church.

This position can be shared. 

Total hours to cover are 9:15 - 2:45  Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.


Approximate hours if split between more than one person.

Door / Hall: 9:15 - 11:00 and 12:00 - 2:45

Lunch:  10:45 - 1:00

Morning Drop-off Supervisor

Arrive by 9am to put out cones and sign.  Escort children to and from vehicle while being dropped off between 9:15 and 9:35. Lock doors when drop-off ends.

Afternoon Pick-up Supervisor

Arrive by 2:15pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to escort children to and from vehicle while being picked up between 2:30 and 2:45.  Bring cones and sign inside.

Building Care Positions
We clean up after ourselves and also help get the building ready for those using it after us. These positions can be shared or done by one family or individual. There are also some jobs that middle and high school students can be responsible for, under your supervision.  If you have young children, and it would be difficult to keep them occupied, we suggest looking at other positions for exchange.

Daily Building Care, Upstairs:
GENERAL: Empty trash cans that are more than half full, changing bags if messy, wipe down tables, vacuum as needed, sweep stairwells as needed.
BATHROOMS: Check trash is picked up, toilets are flushed, water is turned off, obvious dirt is cleaned up, and turn lights off.
Hours: Tuesday and Wednesday at 2:00, work until finished 
expect to spend 30 - 60 minutes, depending on condition of building.

Daily Building Care,  Downstairs:
GENERAL: Empty classroom and bathroom trashes that are more than half full, changing bags if messy, wipe down tables, sweep or spot-mop as needed, spot vacuum as needed, sweep both lobbies and foyers of leaves and rocks, and empty the large trash as needed.
BATHROOMS: Check trash is picked up, toilets are flushed, water is turned off, obvious dirt is cleaned up, and turn lights off.
Hours: Tuesday and Wednesday at 2:00, work until finished 
expect to spend 45 - 60 minutes, depending on condition of building.



Weekly Building Care, Upstairs:
GENERAL: Thoroughly vacuum the hallway and rooms. Empty trashcans and replace liners. Clear debris from two stairwells.  
BATHROOMS: Thoroughly clean bathrooms including emptying trashes, refilling paper towels, refilling soap dispensers, disinfecting toilets, sinks and faucets, light switch, stall surfaces, entire door surface, and floors with provided supplies. 
Make sure lights are all turned off.
Hours: Thursday beginning at 2:00, work until finished
expect to spend  90 - 120 minutes, depending on your speed

Weekly Building Care, Downstairs:
GENERAL: Thoroughly vacuum the hallway and rooms. Steam mop hallway, lobby,  and hard floors. Empty trashcans and replace liners. 
BATHROOMS: Thoroughly clean bathrooms including emptying trashes, refilling paper towels, refilling soap dispensers, disinfecting toilets, sinks and faucets, light switch, stall surfaces, door surfaces, urinal, and floors with provided supplies. Make sure lights are all turned off.
KITCHEN/LUNCHROOM: Thoroughly clean kitchen including wiping counters, putting away supplies, washing and putting away dishes in sink, and wiping inside of microwaves. Check lunchroom tables and floor and clean as needed.  Reset tables and chairs to church specifications.
TRASH: Take all trash to the dumpster. 
Make sure all lights are off.
Hours: Thursday afternoons, can start as early as 1:30 but the vacuuming and steam mopping need to be done after the students have left.
